Treatment Time - 15 Minutes Pain Level - 4/10 So my first question when our therapist suggested it was, "What is Ultrasound Cavitation?" Ultrasound Cavitation is a non-invasive and .non-surgical treatment which offers targeted results. With high resolution focused ultrasound application, fat cells are literally bombarded with precision levels of energy. The result?... |
...Body fat cells absorb this ultrasound energy, and then the fat cell structure basically ´gives up´, breaking down into a liquid which the body naturally eliminates via the Lymphatic drainage channels. (Lymph nodes are found under our arms, in the groin area, around our collar bones and in our necks.) To start, I had my photographs taken of the areas I wanted to treat. I have a mild curve in my spine causing one hip to sit higher than the other and therefor causing one "saddle bag" to protrude further. This has bothered me for as long as I can remember so, when I was given the chance to "melt" it away, I jumped on it! The treatment started with the therapist marking out the area to be treated then, once comfortable one the treatment bed, she applied ultra sound gel and did a 'test shot'. It was completely painless but due to the ultra sound there was a loud 'ding' that travelled straight to my ears. (The therapist advises any patients who are having this treatment carried out to bring music to drown out the ringing.) And so it began. Using the hand piece pictured above (top left) the therapist started to work on the area of fat. Round and round, all the while applying light-medium pressure, it felt quite relaxing. After 5 minutes I could feel it heating up. With the combination of the machine heating up and the small treatment area it began to get quite itchy. The therapist informed me that this is completely normal and when ever I felt it hot or itchy she would apply the ultrasound gel that was lovely and cold as it's kept in the fridge, I thought that was a really nice idea. A few times during the treatment I got a little 'shock' in the localized area, this is because the ultrasound reflected off the bone and sent an electric current towards my knee. This was the only painful part of the treatment and it didn't happen very often so it was very tolerable. Before I knew it, 15 minutes were up and my treatment was over! The therapist cleaned the gel off my hip and I had my pictures taken again to compare. After just one treatment I could see a slight improvement, 6 treatments are recommended for optimal results. And the best part? There was absolutely no down time. I could get dressed and back to work as soon as it was over. Who would I recommend this treatment to? People looking for fast results in specific areas. If you have stubborn or hard fats a series of this treatment should work for you. Combined with Mesotherapy, it is proven to reduce centimeters over time . This treatment does not strip away hugs amounts of fat in one session. It is not designed for seriously over weight patients and will not substitute a healthy eating or exercise regime. It was designed to aid a healthy lifestyle and help dissolve areas of localized stubborn fat. Would I do it again? Absolutely. I will post before and after pictures once I have completed all of my treatments. |
